2. Days of Dance — a contemporary dance festival
Days of Dance, a contemporary dance festival taking place in January, focuses on discovering and supporting up-and-coming artists based in Berlin. The performances include diverse elements of music, language, visual arts, and sounds while taking inspiration from current political events. The festival will take place at Sophiensaele which serves as one of the most significant spaces for performance arts.

3. British Shorts — a Berlin-based film festival
British Shorts celebrates witty, strange, and exciting films from the British Isles. The festival takes place yearly and celebrates the cinematic works of British artists. Two arthouse cinemas, Sputnik Kino and City Kino Wedding, will host the festival and show the movies for one week. So if you are an arthouse cinema lover, this festival is definitely for you.

One of the major exhibition spaces for photography and visual media, C/O presents works by famous artists while supporting emerging talents and welcomes everyone to discover contemporary visual culture. The first exhibition of this winter will present the multifaceted creations of one of the most significant media and performance artists of the twentieth century, Value Export. Her creations challenge social norms and role models with media-reflective practice and feminist criticism. At the end of January, the space will host the exhibition by Catalan artist Laia Abril who dedicates her research work to the topic of institutionally enabled rape using accumulations found in original photographs, reports, quotations, videos, and artifacts.

5. Berlinale — Berlin Film Festival
February will start with one of the most important movie festivals in the world. Every year, Berlinale presents movies by world-acclaimed artists and gathers the largest audience of any film festival in the world. Even though the details and schedules are still unknown, the festival will show up to 400 films in different sections and genres while hosting press events with some major artists and filmmakers.
